Company History 
Our business started in 1985. Our first customers were the mobile canteen trucks. We branched out into the vending segment in 1990, convenience stores in 1992, and then supermarkets in 1994.

We have grown with our national account customers to a point in which we are servicing all of New England and parts of the Midwest.  We produce seven days a week, two shifts a day, for 52 weeks per year. Our current volume - which is growing - is 250,000 handmade sandwiches, meals and salads per week.
          


We started with Canteen Trucks, but now we deliver direct 
to stores and supermarkets!

As we have grown, we have constantly looked into new ways to increase throughput and quality while keeping costs down.  This approach, in turn, has enabled us to pass savings to our customers.  

We have invested in new equipment, having acquired high-end slicers costing $100,000 in addition to multiple tilt skillets, grills, fry-o-lators, and other kitchen essentials.  These upgrades at once increased production and drove down supplier costs since we can buy in larger bulk quantities.  We have also added Modified Atmosphere Packaging equipment (Oricks and Mult-vac) costing in excess of $250,000.  These machines enable us to vacuum-seal products to give them a longer shelf-life. As a result, our customers decrease their waste and can order in larger quantities.  

Indeed, this growth and customer focus will continue as long as OARS exists.  It is and has always been our mission to provide the best sandwiches possible at the fairest price, using our daily delivered meats, cheeses, breads, and produce.
